Founder of the Rock N Roll K9s Performance team and our fearless leader for over 25 years! Master of lighting and props.
The creator and founder of the Rock N Roll K9s Performance Team. Pam has been a dog lover since childhood though the family was not to get their first family pet, a 12 year old Chihuahua named Pepper, until Pam was in her teens. Throughout her late teens Pam worked at a veterinarian clinic and with this came a series of strays and fosters that Pam nurtured and re-homed. She was not particular about the size, shape or color of her four legged friends until she met Babe! Babe was her brother’s white German Shepherd. She was beautiful and kind and Pam became smitten with the breed. What followed is Rock n Roll K9s history. Pam and her husband Larry found their first white shepherd Crystal over 3 decades ago. Crystal and the other white shepherds who followed in the Koons’ household were some of the original Rock N Roll K9 stars.
For a time, the white shepherds had sole possession of the Koons family members’ hearts. Their two daughters were raised alongside these magnificent dogs and both girls became dog lovers as well. Years passed and passions evolved. The Koons family next found themselves not only enjoying their dogs as companions but also as partners in flyball competitions. It was at one such event where Pam’s interest was caught by a little dog with so much spunk and speed that Pam just had to have one like it. And thus began the Shetland sheepdog invasion into the Koons family home.
Pam’s partner in crime. Chief equipment and technical engineer.
Larry has been actively setting the Rock N Roll K9s stage since its inception. Pam had a vision for the team’s equipment. Larry brought her designs to life creating an astounding array of jumps, tunnels and even a piano styled A Frame that add to the visual brilliance of the Rock N Roll K9 shows. In addition to his excellence in equipment construction and management, Larry also serves as the team’s key sound system technical director, sometimes baby sitter, and Cami’s two legged partner in the shows.

Sheri and her Labrador Cosmo were key members of the family flyball team. Sheri was thrilled by the speed and athleticism of the competitive flyball dogs. After Cosmo, a record holder in the sport of flyball, Orbit joined Sheri and her family and quickly became one of the fastest dogs to ever run with the Rock N Roll K9s. Orbit, Staffordshire bull terrier Border collie cross, would bring the crowd to their feet with his amazing speed and showy finishes.
